I figured I would chime in on the "what to study" posts! I'm studying Advertising with a minor in Marketing at Kent State (in Ohio). Advertising is a solid foundation for understanding how to creatively and professionally approach promotions, business, marketing,etc. I've learned everything from design to building a campaign. I'm also the Director of Programming (booking concerts/running shows). It's all about how involved you want to be! Be proactive! Get involved & network when you can! :)
